THE way John Jarratt sees it, the streets and faces of Brisbane will be being beamed into cinemas around the world by this time next year.
The veteran actor is in town this week with McLeod's Daughters star Bridie Carter to film the trailer for Crossing The Line, a $4.25 million feature film to be shot on location around Brisbane during February and March.
Currently living in northern NSW, Jarratt is moving to Brisbane for the production and will stay to help run a newly created independent production company, Film Oz.
A former central Queensland boy who starred in last year's small budget smash thriller Wolf Creek, Jarratt is expecting similar results with Crossing The Line.
The film is about a man who orchestrates the murders of two friends without being implicated himself because he has too many motives.
"Brisbane is an important part of the film because it is distinctive with the wooden houses and the cityscape," Jarratt said.
Local talent would also have the opportunity to audition .
